The NetBom EndPoint Compare operation enables the user to cross-check connections between two endpoints in two different netlists.
The common usage of this is to verify connections made between connectors in 2 designs.
Use Case
Let's say you have a motherboard design with a connector endpoint named J1.
A networking card connects its P3 connector endpoint to the motherBoard J1 connector.
You set the Netlist1 config to the Orcad DSN file or netlist for the motherboard.
Set the Netlist2 config to point to the Orcad DSN file or netlist for the networking card.
You use the EndPoint Compare GUI to set up the NETBOM_ENDPOINT_COMPARE entry to J1:P3
.
The EP_COMPARE_CONFIG can also be provided a pin connection map file in the form of a spreadsheet or CSV file if the cards connect through a cable that is not mapped 1:1.
Next, you run the EndPoint Compare operation.
NetBom will build a spreadsheet and an interactive web report comparing the net names that are connected to the same pin (or remapped pin) of each endpoint.
It will provide a match score using a proprietary Fuzzy Matching algorithm for the net names between the two designs.
