Net Trace Window Anatomy

Overview

The Net Trace window can be opened from any web report that contains nets with tracing data. Right-click any row to open the context menu, and select the net tracing option.

Below is a sample image of a simple trace that is rendered in the net tracing window.

Cross Probing

Cross Probe files can be created by selecting one of the options in the top-left corner of the window and by right-clicking on any node or net in the drawing and selecting the Cross Probe option.

The buttons in the top-right will create Cross Probe files containing data for the entire trace (every visible node).

The context menu option allows the user to create Cross Probe files for a single node, an entire net, or the entire trace.

For more information on this, see Cross Probe Marker Files | Cross Probing from the Net Trace Canvas.

Net Navigation & Accept/Reject Status

The net trace window can navigate between traces from the table in the report window that originally opened the net trace. The left/right arrows will navigate between nets, and the middle button will mark the row in the report as accepted or rejected.

Component Focus

The Component Focus button in the top-right will filter the trace down to only components and nets/parts that are connected to components.
