The video above demonstrates the high level view of the PartBuilder schematic symbol creation process. PartBuilder Reads reads the PIN_REPORT_FILE to build an internal pin database, then reads the Symbol Description Language(SDL) file to map the pins to locations on symbols. Once ,  Once all the pins have been mapped to symbols the PartBuilder symbol generator builds the required Symbol files, attaching the user configured Properties for all enabled EDA tools. It is good practice is to use one working directory or folder for each Part you are creating. When PartBuilder is installed, it creates  a workdir directory under the root install directory,  which is a good place to store part folders, But you can use any folder anywhere on a local or shared drive.
