Read Pin Report for the first time
1. Read the PIN_REPORT File for the first time
click the Read Pin Report Button on the Extra Config Options Menu
(or double click the READ_PIN_REPORT Tree Item in the center of the Main Gui
PartBuilder has many ways to start the same operation
2. Now select the proper component from the IBIS model
An IBIS model can contain descriptions of many different devices which share the same I/O driver models.
When partBuilder reads the IBIS File for the first time, it realizes that this file contains more than one device, so it builds a list of all the devices it finds and prompts the user to select the proper one
It knows that we haven't selected it because the IBIS_COMPONENT_PACKAGE CSET Entry is empty.
3. Select the 96 pin device
We know we want the 96 pin device so we browse till we find it
4. Confirm the choice
5. Now Part Builder reads that File and finds 96 Pins
Since the NUM_PINS entry is blank, partBuilder offers to enter the 96 pins for us and we accept the offer.
The Next time we run, we won't get the popup because we told partBuilder to expect 96 pins and it finds 96 pins.
6. Notice the NUM_PINS entry was updated on the main gui
PartBuilder provides access to many CSETS like the NUM_PINS entry in multiple places.
You can always get to the CSETS using the View/Set All Config button
and you can search for CSETS using the Search for Config Setting button as well
This makes it quick and easy to find a CSET that you only know a partial name of.
